I took a few screws out of the front wheel well mud guard behind the marker light and reached in through there to remove and replace the side marker light.

You have to pull off the front bumper 1st. Then after you pull off the front bumper, then you have to disconnect the whole light from the car. After that you can replace the bulb.
The passenger side front marker light can be access from the back of the light. Take hold of the connector, push in and turn at the same time. The light will come out. Reverse the process to install the new light.
On my 2002 Nissan Xterra I had to remove 4 screws from the front bumper and wheel well and then I was able to get to the back side of the side marker light and remove the nut in order to get to the light bulb.
