general side mirror replacementINSIDE the door,(front lower corner of window),is a plastic triangle.most just snap in,but some are attached with screws(screws sometimes covered by small round plug). remove that triangle, and behind it are the nuts that attach the mirror to the door.(usually a 10mm socket fits).if heated or power mirror(newer trucks),the plug-in is also located behind triangle cover. mirror and arm are an assembly most of the time.

2000 and newer trucks with power mirrors require removal of the door panel. To do this lift the paded part of the arm rest from the back, it unsnaps from the rear. Lift off the front part, with the window and lock controls, it is held on with snaps so it takes a little force to lift it off. Now remove 2 10mm bolts that were hidden. Remove a Phillips screw from the grab well of the arm rest. Pry off the beauty ring around the door latch. Starting from the bottom of the panel pull the panel out, it is held on by several push-in snap type fasteners on the bottom and sides of the panel. Once those are pulled out from the bottom and sides of the panel lift the panel up and once it clears the top catch of the inter-door the panel should come free. The mirror is held on with 3 combo Phillips head/ 8mm bolts. The wiring for the power to the mirror can easily be traced to the connector under the clear plastic insulation. With the wire connector unhooked and the bolts off the old mirror can be removed. Simply reverse the process with the replacement.
