Mitsubishi says every 60,000 miles it should be replaced.
To replace the water pump on a 2005 Mitsubishi Galant, first, disconnect the battery and drain the coolant. Remove the timing belt by loosening the tensioner, and then take off the timing cover to access the water pump. Remove the old water pump by unscrewing the bolts, clean the mounting surface, apply a new gasket or sealant, and install the new pump. Finally, reassemble the timing belt, timing cover, refill the coolant, and reconnect the battery.
It has a timing belt ! Recommended to be replaced every 60000 miles.
Hello: I am doing a overhaul on my 2002 Mitsubishi Galant. I inadvertently moved the crankcase while trying to remove the small timing belt while the larger timing belt was off. Knowing that, I would like to know is there a procedure to follow to correct this?
