I tried a combination of these and mine started working. I'm not sure what actually did it, but hopefully this helps someone save a trip to the dealer.
Option 1:
Try this:
Keep car off. Relay near driver side kick panel. If you can't find it turn car on. Flip sunroof switch till you hear the relay. Once you've found it, turn car off. Unplug relay. Turn car on. Turn car off. Plug relay back in Sunroof should work. That easy, even though my instructions seem complicated.
Option 2:
If not that then try this:
just press the "tilt forward" button until you hear a click....problem fixed
Option 3:
If that still doesn't work try:
1. Close your sunroof all the way.
2. Turn off your car.
3. Disconnect your battery.
4. Turn on your lights, and step on your brakes. Do it like 10 times. (You are basically draining the system.)
5. Hook up your battery.
6. Tilt your sunroof up, then back down.
7. Pull back on the slide lever. It should be fixed.
It's basically like rebooting your computer.
Option 4:
The reset procedure for the sunroof on my 02 Maxima is to tilt the sunroof open then tilt it closed again. Once closed hold the tilt close button for a few seconds. This resets the slide control. If your sunroof is stuck in the open position you can use the tilt open/close to wiggle it back to closed.
Option 5:
The way you Re- program the roof is by hitting the roof button so it opens it up all the way. Than close the roof in the same manor. By doing it a couple of time it will re program the roof. It takes about 5 minutes. That amount of work is definatley not worth $900.

Next, close the sunroof completely and hold the switch in the closed position for about 5-10 seconds. Then, open the sunroof fully and keep the switch held for another 5-10 seconds.
