The air bag light is indicating a fault in the system. That'll have to be repaired before the light will stay off.
You can visit your Toyota dealer or other shop or, visit an auto supply store that offers to loan an OBD II reader. It's an electonic box that plugs into a port under the dashboard (to the right of the steering column). The code reader will tell you what the problem is so it can be repaired. The same reader will allow the code to be cleared and the light will go off. Clearing the code without doing the repair will only result in the light coming back on again.
Cheers
Try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. If that does not work you will need an OBD2 scanner to reset it. Of course if you do not fix the problem that triggered the check engine light it will just come back on.
Make sure odometer (ODO) is slelected (not trip odometer). Hold in odometer "reset" botton. Turn Igniotion to ON but do not start engine. Light will flash and go off. Turn Ignition OFF. Release "reset" button.
To reset the check engine light in your 2006 Toyota Corolla, you will need to attach the car to a diagnostic computer. This allows you to pinpoint the reason for the light coming on, select the correct sensor, and reset the light.
