It is located in the right side of the gauges of the dash it has a small pop out plastic rectangle that removes with a small flat screw driver
Disconnect the battery for 2 minutes. Reconnect and it should be good to go.
To reset the "Maint Required" light on a 1991 Mitsubishi Mighty Max, turn the ignition key to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Press and hold the trip meter reset button on the dashboard, then turn the key to the "OFF" position while still holding the button. Release the button, then turn the ignition back to "ON." The light should be reset and turn off.
There is a reset button on the back of the light. Not easy to get to. You have to remove the inst. cluster. Taking the speedo cable is the hardest, but if you can reach it from the back, pinch the lever on the top of the connector and it will come off.
Disconnect the negative battery cable for five minutes. This will reset the light, but if the problem that caused the light to be set is not repaired the light will just come back on.
Remove the upper corner screws first, and then the lower bottom screws second with a Phillips screwdriver. The lower bottom screws are hidden underneath the two square plastic tabs (caps)...you just need to pry them off with a flathead screwdriver, and then you'll have access to the two screws that's holding the instrument cluster lens. I found out myself by trial and error, nobody told me. This is how you reset the red "maint req'd" light that comes on after a preset mileage to remind you to service your Mitsubishi Mighty Max pickup truck. I own a 1991 Mighty Max myself and I perform all routine maintenance on it....I hope this pointer helps.
