You can only move the seat back and forth as far a the guide rails allow. The top part of the seat should be able to lay down (but I dont see a point of that unless your sleeping) and sit straight up.
get in under the truck and unhook the transmission link and move it towards the back two clicks
I'm researching this at the moment as I just had mine in to fix the radio, apparently there's one easy to find one, I believe above the pedals (you need to move the drivers seat back to get to it) and apparently one between the glovebox and the dashboard.

Remove the plug From The Back Then Screw Of The Cover And Move The Saftey To The Side And The Headlight Will Come Right Off
Check the brakes and make sure they are not locked up. and make sure the shift cable is in in place good.
I'd start with the parking brake I have had cars that would back up but not go fwd when it was on. Stuck maybe? Good luck. David
