Remove the black tube going from the air cleaner box to the intake manifold. Disconnect your negative battery cable. Disconnect your positive battery cable. *Your starter will be located on top of the transmission. Disconnect the wires going to the starter and label them. Unbolt your starter. Put dielectric grease on the terminals of the new starter. Clean any corrosion off of the cables that go to the starter. Bolt the new starter in. My manual does not list a torque spec, so just get it tight but don't crank it too hard. My manual for 1992-1995 Civics lists three different types of starters. There's Hitachi, Nippondenso and Mitsuba. Also, the starter for an automatic car will NOT work in a 5 speed, and vice versa.
