Open the hood and count them. They should be replaced when they are worn out. Inspect them for fraying, cracks on the top side, or if they are streatched to the point they cannot be adjusted properly.

There is only one serpentine belt on the 9th Generation Corolla, 2003 to 2009 model years, all have the same engine, the 1.8Liter 1ZZ FE and has spring loaded tensioner, the only reason the belt can become 'loose' is the tensioner has become weak or broken. Yes, inspect it, but Toyota has no set mileage interval for replacement. It will last at least 60,000 miles or more. There is an exception to the 9th Generation, the XRS Trim was available for the 2005 and 2006 model years with a High-Performance 2ZZ GE 1.8Liter, but still with a single belt.

You can purchase new seat belts for a 2003 Toyota Corolla from the Toyota Parts Zone website. Alternatively, you can also purchase these seat belts from websites such as eBay.
My 2000 Corolla definitely has a timing CHAIN. I don't recall what year, but it has been awhile since they have used belts.
When changing belts, it is important to know the layout and have a diagram to help guide the removal and replacement of these belts. A diagram for these belts can be found in the maintenance manual of a 1989 Toyota Corolla 4-A-F.
1998 and up 4 cylinders have timing chains not belts, which means it is not necessary to replace.
The 1989 Toyota Corolla serpentine belt can be tightened or loosen with the tensioner pulley. Pry to the left on the tensioner pulley until the belt is tight. Tighten the tensioner pulley.
The 1.6 liter and 1.8 liter - 4 cylinder engines in a 1994 Toyota Corolla are : non - interference engines ( according to the Gates website , they make timing belts etc. )
Hello, Timing Belts in general, should be replaced about every 80,000 Kilometres or 50,000 miles.
Most of the modern Toyota Corollas are automatic. If not well maintained, the seat belts might fail.
For a used Toyota Corolla to be considered certified, many things are checked first. These things include the engine, transmission, brakes, tires, timing belts, and much more.
toyota recommends that timing belts be replaced at 60,000; however, 100,000 miles is fine. Replace at 100,000 miles as preventative maintenance. 4 cylinder 2002 Camry has a timing chain which does not have to be replaced.
The 2012 Toyota Corolla is equipped with a timing chain, not a timing belt. Timing chains are generally more durable and require less frequent replacement than timing belts. This design feature contributes to the Corolla’s reputation for reliability and low maintenance costs.
