It depends on how well equipped your shop is, if you're changing the belt before it breaks, and how many of them you've done before. A good mechanic who changes a lot of timing belts and who has the proper tools--especially a big impact wrench--can do this in a couple hours. A shade-tree guy working with only hand tools will probably be there all day, if he's never done one before. If you broke the belt in operation and bent a valve...oh, you're looking at a day and a half to two days of you working on the car and between three and ten days in the machine shop.
