To check the transmission fluid on a Daewoo Lanos 2000 you have to get to the back side of the engine from underneath. The way we did it was to put the car on a lift.
There is NO drain plug! To change fluid you have to remove the transmission pan.
check your hand book
The Daewoo Lanos dose NOT have a transmission dip stick. The manual recomends replacing the transmission fluid every 80.000 miles. There isn't one. No kidding. This is the only car I've ever owned that doesn't have one. I can't imagine why a car would be designed this way.
To check the transmission fluid level on a 2002 Daewoo Lanos with a standard transmission, first ensure the vehicle is on level ground and the engine is running. Locate the transmission dipstick, which is typically near the back of the engine. Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then pull it out again to check the fluid level. The fluid should be within the marked range on the dipstick; if it's low, add the appropriate transmission fluid as needed.
To check the transmission fluid in a 2001 Daewoo Lanos, first ensure the vehicle is on level ground and the engine is running at normal operating temperature. Locate the transmission dipstick, which is usually found near the back of the engine compartment. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then remove it again to check the fluid level against the marks on the dipstick. If the fluid is low, add the appropriate type of transmission fluid as needed.
2002 1.6 DOHC manual states SAE 80W for manual transmission & Dextron III for Automatic transmission.
most likely somewhere in between 8-12 quarts
To check the manual transmission fluid on a Daewoo Lanos, first, ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is off. Locate the transmission fill plug, usually found on the side of the transmission. Remove the plug and check if the fluid is at the level of the hole; if it drips slightly when you touch it, the fluid level is adequate. If it's low, add the appropriate type of manual transmission fluid until it reaches the correct level.
To add transmission fluid to a 2000 Daewoo Lanos, locate the transmission dipstick, usually found near the back of the engine, and remove it. Using a funnel, pour the recommended type of transmission fluid into the dipstick tube. To measure the level, reinsert the dipstick, remove it again, and check the fluid level against the markings on the dipstick; it should be within the "Full" and "Add" marks. Ensure you've added enough fluid by checking that it reaches the "Full" mark when the engine is warm and running, and the vehicle is on a level surface.
You have to remove the trans. pan.
This is Just a "Breather Tube". The lower end is connected to a tube on the transmission the upper end just hangs down close to the coolant reservoir.
