More than likely it is 4 to 4.5 quarts with a filter change. But to make sure do this. Park the vehicle on a perfectly level surface. Drain the oil and install a new filter. Pour in 4 quarts of oil and start the engine. Let it run for 1 minute and then shut down. Wait one hour and then check the oil level. Add oil as necessary to fill it to the full mark. Keep track of how much oil you added. You now know the capacity. Caution: DO NOT OVERFILL

Actually, if you check your owner's manual, It says 3.4-3-7 quarts with oil filter change, depending on how much oil is still in engine (the engine still has some oil left in it after draining. If the engine is completely oil-less-dry, then 4-4.5 quarts is probably ok, but that is rarely the case.) I just did an oil change including filter on my 01 civic LX and it took about 3.4 quarts to fill to top line on dip stick. I was very careful to measure it as I was using a 5-quart container and didn't want to over fill. Had i used 4-4.5 quarts it would have been over-filled and probably caused serious problems with seals, oil pressure oil, leaks, etc.
