To change the speedometer cable on a 1990 Toyota truck, disconnect the cable, feeding it through the grommet, then disconnect it from the transmission. The process can then be reversed with the new cable.
IF THE CABLE IS DAMAGED, THE HOUSING IS DAMAGED. ITS A COMMON PROBLEM. REPLACE WITH NEW PARTS
You can get a speedometer cable for your 1990 Toyota pickup truck at most auto-parts stores. Many Toyota dealerships have auto part departments open to the public.
Try blowing graphite down there.
Nope 91 was the last year of that
To fix the speedometer on a 1987 Nissan truck, first check the speedometer cable for any signs of damage or disconnection. If the cable is intact, inspect the speedometer gear within the transmission for wear or breakage. You may need to replace the cable or the speedometer gear, depending on the issue. Finally, reconnect everything and test the speedometer to ensure it’s functioning correctly.
my 92 yota has a sensor. the plug is located on the passenger side of the trans.
The exact location of the speedometer cable is dependent upon the make and model of your 1994 pickup truck. In general, the speedometer cable goes from the speedometer to the speed sensor.
well that's not to hard to answer. my truck did the same thing i replace the speedometer cable and sensor in the transmission and i never had that problem since. try that first and see what happens if that wont work then replace the speedometer panel in the dashboard.
There are two types of speed sensors and you can't tell until you look. One is electrical/magnetic (VSS) and one is a cable that goes directly into the instrument cluster. Here is my answer to How to replace the Speedometer Cable in a 1990 Toyota 4x4 Pickup 3.0 3VZE V6. To remove the cable you will need to unhook the e-brake assembly and seperate the speedometer cable from the e-brake at the firewall by the gas pedal. On end goes to rear of the instrument cluster and the other end attaches to a small gear at the rear of the transmission. The instrument cluster will need to be removed.
The speedometer does not have a cable on a 1994. It is run by a sesnor on the rear of the trans/t-case.
you will have to replace.
