Not an authority on the car but for starters it'd probally help to adjust the air screw on side of the carburetor. One other tip that I can provide is that if your fuel mixture smells too rich when you start up, its possible to take the air filter off and drive for a little while before you put it back on. Cheers,Paul.

To adjust the carburetor on a 158cc Briggs & Stratton engine, first ensure the engine is off and cool. Locate the adjustment screws, typically labeled "H" for high speed and "L" for low speed. Start the engine and let it warm up, then adjust the "L" screw for smooth idle and the "H" screw for optimal acceleration, turning each screw clockwise to enrich the mixture and counterclockwise to lean it. Make small adjustments and test the engine's performance after each change.
The fuel mixture is controlled by the computer and is not adjustable.
Computer controlled
If it's an EFI engine you do not adjust the mixture screw. The mixture is computer controlled.
