if the 02 is like other passports it is a sealed non service unit that does not require checking or replacement
To check the transmission fluid level on a 1999 Honda Passport, first ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is warmed up. Locate the transmission dipstick, which is usually near the back of the engine bay. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, then remove it again to check the fluid level; it should be within the marked range. If necessary, add the appropriate type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube.
Check the fluid level. If you have to add some make sure you use only genuine Honda ATF DW-1. If the fluid level is ok, then you need to seek professional help.
There is a bolt u have to take out to see if the fluid is full .. The bolt is located under the car by the transmission .. only way to check and fill the transmission fluid
I'm not sure which plug (bolt) it is, but there is supposed to be one plug for filling the transmission and one to tell when the fluid is at the correct level. There isn't a dipstick.
There isn't one. It is a drain and fill transmission. There is a fill plug on the bottom of the transmission pan. I just went through this with my 97 passport. It requires a special temperature tool to check the level. I just took it to the dealership.

With the engine running and the vehicle in park, pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, then reinsert it to check the fluid level. Finally, recheck the fluid level to ensure it’s within the recommended range.

Same place you check the level.
If a 1999 Honda Passport goes into reverse but not drive, it could indicate a problem with the transmission, such as low fluid levels, a clogged filter, or internal damage to the transmission components. Additionally, issues with the shift linkage or a malfunctioning solenoid may prevent engagement in drive. It's advisable to check the transmission fluid level and condition first, and if the problem persists, a professional diagnosis may be necessary.
I had to go and get a Haynes book, can't find any info either. stupid Hondas! You have to go under the car and check the level. It is much like the engine oil drain on other American cars. It is a nut/bolt where you have to eyeball the level of the fluid. There is no dipstick. I was told by the Honda Mech that a bolt/nut had to be removed & level had to be checked by dipping your pinky finger in. I'm sure there's some expensive tools that the Honda suggests for those ridiculous transmission level checks.....what kinda stupid non-user friendly crap is that Honda??
To add automatic transmission fluid to a 2001 Honda Passport without a siphon pump, first, locate the transmission dipstick tube under the hood. Use a funnel to carefully pour the fluid into the dipstick tube, ensuring you don't overfill. You may need to use a long, narrow funnel to reach the tube easily. Always check the fluid level using the dipstick after adding to ensure it's at the proper level.
