It depends where it's leaking from.
I have had two previous cases of my truck leaking transmission fluid and both consisted of the pressure lines not being properly clipped on or a bad hose.
It could be a old or faulty gasket inside the transmission box.
Either way it would need replacing of the hardware. only way to fix it.
In my 93 Isuzu Rodeo you have to add your transmission fluid buy poring it into the the transmission fluid dipstick.
what type of transmission fluid used for a 97 Isuzu rodeo
In 2001 rodeo, it has the 4l30-e transmission which is made by GM. You have two possible problem. One your clutches are getting bad or two you are leaking transmission fluid. If you are leaking transmission fluid, you will have to pump the fluid back into the transmission. The most like spot for the leak is in the accumulator area.
how do you find out how to check the transmition in a isuzu rodeo
Transmission fluid level: As you don
it is on the underside of the motor.
dexron III
On the 2002 Rodeo the transmission is sealed and is non servicable by the owner. You cannot even check the fluid level so I advise taking it to an Isuzu repair shop.
6 quarts
5 quarts is recommended....
The 2001 Rodeo has a sealed transmission. The only way to change it is to pump out the old fluid and refill it via the route. This is not for the weekend mechanic and I suggest that you have a dealer do it.
I own a 1998(automatic) 3.2L V6 4x4 Rodeo, and I follow the service manual which says to use DEXRON II auto transmission fluid.
