you would find the crankshaft main bolt,accessible right behind left front tire and turn it counterclockwise..then look at the tdc mark to c when its at tdc..the check mark shuld be under distributer on transmission body. dont forget to turn camshaft also till the little dot on sprocket points up and on both sides of sprocket theres a line which needs to be parallel with the top of head. also if you replace the timing belt and put it back together and find out that it runs like crap and cant be timed correctly and/or wont pass smog,its because one of the valves on the cylinder head hit a piston when the belt broke,which in turn bent the valve.In which case you will have to get the valve repaired at a machine shop.
