The fuel sending unit on a Toyota RAV4 is typically held in place by a locking ring rather than being screwed or bolted. This locking ring secures the unit to the fuel tank and can be removed with a special tool or a flathead screwdriver. Always refer to the specific service manual for your RAV4 model year for detailed instructions.
