Answer 1 Battery "Self-Recovery"

That depends on the condition of the battery before you "ran it down."

IF you're lucky, turning off all lights, AND allowing to stand for a few hours, will allow the chemistry in the battery to recover, and MAY be strong enough to start the vehicle.

The problem is in knowing how LONG to allow for recovery. IF you continually keep trying to start it BEFORE it's had time to recover, then it will never recover on its own.

IF this is the case, then you will need to either "jump" start it from another vehicle with a strong battery, OR hook up a battery charger to recharge your battery.

Good luck.

Does the battery in a 2004 Chrysler Sebring have the capability to recharge itself?

No, a battery cannot recharge itself. The alternator converts some of the engine's energy into electrical energy which is then stored in the battery. If a battery is not getting recharged under normal driving conditions, you either have a problem with the charging system or a failed battery. You can't know without testing. On the other hand, sometimes a dead battery can get what's called a "surface charge". A surface charge just means that when you were cranking last time, you depleated all of the readily available electrical charge. By letting the battery sit for a while, "entropy" has allowed some of the chemical reaction to spread out over all of the battery plates... but the battery cannot "create" electrical energy.

How do you hot wear a car?

To hot wir a car you need jump leads. You need to connect the battery in your car to the battery in another car that is working using the jump leads. Then when you start up car #2 it will give car#1 enough electricity to start itself. From there, it will recharge itself as you drive.

Why wont the battery recharge on your 1980 suzuki gs 550 l?

Hi, Either bad charging system or battery. Check battery voltage itself and then voltage to battery with engine running. Healthy charging system will put out 1.5 to 2.0 volts above battery voltage. Motorcycles are notoriously rough on batteries. Peace, crigby
