Alternator
On the negative post of the battery. Common computer grounds are on the thermostat housing, back of the cylinder head, sometimes on the intake, then main conductors are body to frame, body to battery, body to engine, frame to engine and frame to battery.
Try the cables from your battery and alt. Sometimes these can corrode.
I recently replaced the battery in our 1998 Windstar and did not keep the electrical system connected during the changeover. No issues afterwards.
You could have a short in your electrical system, your battery might need a charge or be replaced.
A battery is not always a cylinder. It may be a flat disc or a cube as well as a cylinder.
A battery is only an electrical storage device. If the battery is faulty it will not be able to store electrical energy. On the other hand, if the battery is ok, it could be discharged because the alternator cannot create sufficient energy to keep the battery charged. If you are able to charge the battery the problem is in the alternator or an electrical connection. If you can't charge the battery, go ahead and change it. However, replacing a good battery will only make the vehicle run briefly. If the charging system isn't working a new battery won't solve the problem.
2002 Mazda tribute, what is cylinder misfire My #5 cylinder has a misfire. Battery light also flickers according to idle. So far not alternator. Alternator and battery was replaced maybe 2 years ago.

check park / neutral safety switch, if standard trans check the clutch safety switch
To change a cylinder head temperature sensor, first disconnect the vehicle's battery to ensure safety. Locate the sensor, usually found on the cylinder head, and unplug the electrical connector. Remove the old sensor using the appropriate wrench or socket, then install the new sensor by threading it into place and reconnecting the electrical connector. Finally, reconnect the battery and check for any leaks or error codes.
I have just came up on this same problem with my 2000 Kia. Turns out it was the Ignition switch. $160.00 to have it replaced.
Put some brake fluid in the master cylinder.
