I am guessing the speedometer is doing one of two things. It is causing the needle to be slow or bounce.Second it is slow to repond while driving.Simple correction is to remove the speedometer cable at the transmission on the driver side large black cable and clean the end with brake cleaner and lubricate it with some white lithium grease. You can do the same to cable where it connects to the gauge itself.Napa sells this grease in a small container like wheel bearing grease. If you choose not to use my recommendation use wheel bearing grease as a substitute. This should clear up the issue I assume you are having based on my experience with my truck I have owned the last 22 years.I normally have to grease my cable at the transmission about once a year to prevent this problem.
