SR20, VQ35, VG30DETT, KA, RB...I think they've all been done. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ dont forget about the 300ZX with the VG45DE TT from the Infiniti Q45.
Personally, i would just stick to the VG30DETT. Its perfect for the car
a v8 :D
yes if the turboengen is the right size
Hi, yes we are in the middle of doing that swap now,You can call me 727-643-9163 Sven. J30 eng in 300zx
Yes, a 370Z engine can fit into a 1986 300ZX, but it requires significant modifications. The engine mounts, wiring harness, and transmission will likely need to be adapted to accommodate the newer engine. Additionally, the 370Z's engine is a VQ37VHR, which may also necessitate custom fabrication for proper fitment and integration with the 300ZX's systems. It's advisable to consult with an experienced mechanic or fabricator for a successful swap.
Yes they use different fuel mixtures and injector sizes
If you're looking to turbo an NA engine, it is very difficult and expensive for the amount of power you will get. Best option is to find a good engine from a Twin Turbo model and swap the entire thing.
The turbo off the 300z will fit on the r32, not the manifold, only the turbo.
Check the crank position sensor
If it's a Z31 you can swap in the VG30DET. For the Z32 you can swap in the VG30DETT, or what some people do Rb26dett (skyline engine). The former is a easy swap the latter hard. I've even seen a SR20 (silvia), 2 liter all aluminum in a Z32. Car's pretty heavy for 4 cyl torque, but needless to say the sr wasn't stock. I'd do the VG30DETT easy, pretty cheap, and awesome.
Yes it will
although possible, it is not recommended. The actual cast engine block is the same however, the intake manifold and exhaust manifolds are to wide to fit into the z31 engine bay. So it is possible but would take a good amount of custom fabrication. I'd recommend an sr20 or rb series motor swap. considerably less modification
If they both have the same engine.
