Yes I had that same problem. I am currently the proud owner of my 3rd Eclipse,talon,and or laser (typically the same car) and I owned 3 of them.
For me it happened twice and it was caused from a bearing. The wayI noticed it was of course that annoying sound or huming,like a constant roar. For me anyway? The second thing I always observed to be certain that my self-diagnosis was correct was I always looked to see if my tires (all 4)usually of course ALWAYS the back ones and it looked like a cat,dog,or animal hand took a wee-wee on my tires.......but in fact that was where the bearing in the wheel had gone bad and that wet look or stain was just oil leaking from the bearings.
