There is a very un-used setting in your alert window you can setup and use when you are on the road for extended periods of time. It's called the rest feature. You can program in the amount of time you would like to drive before your car will remind you that it's time to take a break.
To set/unset it go to your settings window, go to alerts and rest. Change it back to nill or "-" to unset it. That will stop it from popping up every half an hour (0.5h).
