Broken crank shaft.
2005 mitsubishi colt timing belt
no and never will
Very.
I have the same question. It is quite important when I am going to buy a used Colt, which has drived 70000 to 90000 kilometer. I don't understand why Mitsubishi doesn't mention it on manual or somewhere?!
one is on the cam gear and the other is on the crank timing belt gear. spark timing is on the crank to the rear of the engine
Yes, this is an interference engine. The belt must be replaced every 60,000 miles. If the belt breaks serious engine damage will occur.
your bigest problem is the removal of the front pully bolt it is reached though the frame I had to use a torch, then remove all pullys and then the plastic cover there is your belt
This may not be your problem but I had this problem with an '86 Dodge Colt. Turned out to be the timing belt.
The question you ask is too involved for a proper answer. You need to go to a car parts store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library.
It depends on the make of vehicle as to how often you should change the belt. If it has 150,000 and the belt has never been changed, well, it is long overdue. And if it is an interference type, and the belt breaks, then the valves get damaged, and the cost to repair goes up ten fold.
The timing marks on a 93 Dodge Colt with a 1.5 liter engine are located on the timing chain and the cam sprocket. They must line up with each other to ensure proper initial timing.
With all car if you have fuel and spark then timing is your issue on a 1.5 L engine the timing belt has most likey jumped time. the good news is you can replace the belt pretty cheap(parts about $30) also you should check the igition module for function. your basically looking for timing control issues.
