no no no...it means that you have overdrive on!!! all it does is make the gears shift a little later so you have more acceleration like when climbing a mountain
It means your overdrive gear is off on your tran. You have an automatic transmission, yes? When you drive at speeds higher than 45 MPH, your transmission will automatically shift to a higher gear to reduce engine RPM and increaase MPG. When overdrive is off, it will not do this. Performance will be improved (slightly), but economy will be reduced significantly. could be low trans fluid indicator. My guess is that you can also find a definitive explanation for this in your owners manual. There should be a notifications or warnings section in there.
