It is designed to come on and bug you every 5000 miles, in hopes that you will change, or have your oil changed. Here is how to reset it. Turn ignition on, dont start the engine, just ignition on. Press in the odometer button, and hold it in.(make sure your odometer is displaying the milage, not the trip meter) Turn ignition off while keeping the od button pressed in. Turn ignition back on, still holding button in, and od will display dashed line like this: -------. The lines will start to count down and you od will return to reading out the milage.
