it has to be the distributor cap or rotor or wires...plug wires.
im not getting fire to the spark plugs but the distributor is getting fire what do i do please help
Your ignition module may be out. Or your distributor is out. What kind of vehicle?
If you're not getting spark from the distributor, see if you're getting spark from the ignition coil. If there's no spark there, then the coil is either bad, or it's not wired up correctly.
If the distributor is getting fire but there's no spark coming from it, it may indicate a problem with the ignition system, such as a faulty rotor, worn-out ignition wires, or a malfunctioning ignition coil. Additionally, the distributor cap could be cracked or dirty, preventing the spark from reaching the spark plugs. It's also possible that there is an issue with the timing or the overall engine management system. Diagnosing these components will be essential to resolving the issue.
Check to make sure your getting fire at the Distributor Cap, if not, then try replacing the cap and rotor button. If that doesn't work, you may need a new distributor.
Have you checked all of the High Tension leads from the distributor to the plugs, or just one or two? Same with HT lead from Coil to Distributor, Check Distributor cap for cracks
The spark travels from the coil to the distributor then from the distributor to the plugs. So if you have spark going into the distributor but not coming out to the plugs, I would blame the distributor cap and rotor being at fault.
change the rotor. spark shorting to distributor shaft
Check if there is spark and that you have properly installed distributor.
bad spark plug wires, low battery, broken rotor in the distributor
A distributor sends electric (from ignition coil) to the spark plugs via the spark plug wires, which in turn fire the engine.
Won't fire as in no spark? Replace the ingition module inside the distributor.
