The Passport has no driving problem as long as it doesn't come to a stop,when that happens it will not go again until the winter drive button is pushed.
put it in neutral and shift it to two wheel drive

"Passport" is an Isusu Rodeo. Switch is probably dirty or grimey. Spray into switch and around protruding actuating lever/button with WD40 or Brake Parts Cleaner, then manually (with your fingers or a safe tool), move the actuating lever/button in and out/up and down numerous times fast. Should take care of issue. If not, then replace switch.

The 4x4 slipping means that the transmission for the 4 wheel drive is not engaging like it should. The 1996 Honda might need to have the trans-axle repaired.

14mm wrench. remove 4 nuts from the front flange and 4 nuts rear flange. Careful with the driveshaft it's aluminum.
