There are a lot of things that could be wrong. If you hear a clicking noise, it could be:
-the alternator isn't charging the battery so it won't have the power to at least turn over
-the battery is dead from other reasons than the alternator
-wiring is grounded out somewhere along the ignition wiring
-bad ignition switch
-bad relay
-bad fuse
-ignition coil is defective
-distributor cap is defective
-rotor needs to be replaced
....sorry there are a million reasons....try check the battery and alternator and go from there...
