it fits around the outside of the cartridge.. Its a PAIN!!!.. The dealer is the only one that has the tool and they will NOT sell it!!!!!!!.. I found one similar at autozone by measuring the oil canister from side to side and I found one that was similar but it doesnt quite fit. I make it work!
