It will look dirty. Just replace the filter every 30,000 miles.
Look at it. If it's dirty, it'll show it. It'll look dirty.
The fuel filter is probably clogged and restricting the fuel flow. If the engine blows black smoke before it cuts out, then the engine is flooding - look for a dirty air filter or a fouled spark plug.
should be on top of the engine. it doesent look like a normal fuel filter.
Go to any auto parts store and look for the engine degreaser. Spray it on the dirty area, wait a few minutes and wash it of with a water hose.(DONT GET THE AIR FILTER WET!!!)
Usually on the V6 Sonata's they are located under the hood. Look to the right of your engine and look down at the transmission itself. There should be a "spin on" filter, kind of like the one for your engine. if not then your filter is located inside the actual transmission.
dirty
If its an automatic transmission it may be time to have the fluid and filter change, when it gets old and dirt it can make the transmission behave bad. Also look at the engine air filter when they are dirty or clogged it can make the tranny behave oddly.
dirty
Look for a dirty/clogged air filter or fuel filter. A more likely cause would be a blockage inside the carburetor. Secondary, a bad gasket somewhere between the carb and engine block. A clogged fuel filter would allow the engine to run ok for a few minutes before surging, and a blocked air filter would cause a rich running condition.
your burning grease off the block most likely due to your engine overheating. look at your engine and see if its dirty if so clean it also change your cabin air filter that helps to.
When an engine dies a few moments after it starts. it is usually due to lack of or too much fuel. Look for a dirty/clogged filter (fuel and air).
