test flow in and out of heater core it may be plugged or need replacing, if it is not plugged up check temp controls, may be stuck in vent or a/c setting.
That is the lower hose and the one connected to the radiator is the upper one..
The Thermostat on the 1999 Lincoln Continental is located on the under side of the car Where the the Radiator Hose, that runs along the bottom of the car, is connected to the Thermostat Housing. You can only get to it by getting underneath the car where the Radiator Hose is connected.
The thermostat is located on the water pump. If you follow the lower radiator hose to the end not connected to the radiator you will find it.
Drain the radiator. disconnect the top radiator hose from the engine. Remove the water inlet that the hose was hooked to. The thermostat is in the housing. Replace the gasket when replacing the thermostat.
Follow your top radiator hose from the radiator , it connects to a metal pipe , the other end of the pipe is connected to the thermostat housing which is bolted to the front of the engine - the thermostat is inside the thermostat housing
Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator towards the engine. The upper radiator hose is connected to the thermostat housing on the engine side. The thermostat is under/inside the thermostat housing. Remove the upper radiator hose from the housing then remove the two bolts holding down the thermostat housing then remove the thermostat housing to expose the thermostat.
Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine block. The part the hose is connected to is the thermostat housing. The thermostat is under it.
Follow the top radiator hose from the radiator , it connects to a metal pipe , the other end of the metal pipe is permanently connected to the thermostat housing which is bolted to the front of the engine , the thermostat is inside the thermostat housing
Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine and at the engine you will find a housing with the thermostat inside. When replacing it make sure the spring goes toward the engine.

On my 91 Lsi (1ltr 3cyl) the thermostat is directly under the distributor cap. Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine block, under the distributor. The hose is connected to the thermostat housing, which is connected to the engine by two bolts. If you replace your thermostat don't forget a new gasket.
