2000 Toyota Celica have timing chains.
From what I have been told by Toyota savvy folk about the 2000-2005 Celica timing chain, it should last the lifetime of the car with no replacement. God bless timing chains vs. belts!!
no
a 1994 Toyota Celica GT has a timing belt.
Your 2000 Toyota Celica has a chain and not a belt. The chain requires no maintenance.
All 1995 Celica's are fitted with timing belts.
The timing "chain"will start rattling at around the 100k to 110k mark. This is when it should be replaced
Get a manual on your car to do the job right. In short, you have to pull the timing belt covers and timing belt. Get a manual.
You don't because its a chain!!
yes
The 1997 Toyota Celica GT and ST models are equipped with a timing belt. It's important to follow the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule to replace the timing belt, as failure to do so can lead to engine damage. Always consult the owner's manual for specific maintenance details.
you should change the belt every 60.000 miles or there abouts. i have just had my timing belt snapped because it was not changed after 100.000 miles now i need a new water pump as well
