The upstream is visible under the hood, lower right side of the aluminum heat shield. This will require a socket designed for O2 sensors. The downstream sensor is located on the pipe (catalytic converter) which can be reached by getting under the car. You can remove it with wrench. Make sure you disconnect the electrical connection first.
how many oxygen sensors are on a 1997 Mazda mpv lx
Check
where is the oxygen sensor located on a 1997 Chevrolet lumina
All O2 sensors are threaded into the exhaust system at various points.
Oxygen sensors are located on the exhaust system. This one is on the exhaust manifold. The only oxygen sensors are on the passenger side on this year Ram.
There are two screwed into the exhaust on the rear of the engine.
On the 1997 Ford Aspire, the oxygen sensors are typically located in two places: one is positioned in the exhaust manifold, before the catalytic converter (upstream sensor), and the other is located after the catalytic converter (downstream sensor). These sensors monitor the oxygen levels in the exhaust gases, helping to optimize fuel efficiency and emissions control. If you're troubleshooting or replacing them, ensure you access the sensors through the engine bay and under the vehicle.
on exhaust pipe there is one right under the manifold
you have 4 o2 sensors 2 up stream 2 down stream they are located in the y-pipe of your exhaust 2 before your catalyst and 2 after
Depending on the exhaust system, there will be one before and one after each catalytic converter.
On a 1997 Ford Taurus : In the power distribution box ( which is " live " ) located in the front of the engine compartment , near the battery ( mini fuse # 28 is a 15 amp fuse for the heated oxygen sensors and canister vent )
There are a total of ( 4 oxygen sensors ) according to the engine wiring schematic for the 1997 Mercury Mountaineer in my Haynes repair manual ( 2 oxygen sensors are " upstream " sensors used by the PCM to adjust the air / fuel ratio of the engine ) ( 2 oxygen sensors are " downstream " sensors / catalyst monitors )
