In the 1995 Hyundai Excel, the Engine Control Unit (ECU) is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side, near the steering column. It may be mounted on or behind the fuse box or secured to the vehicle's firewall. Accessing it usually requires removing some trim panels for proper visibility and reach.
It is located behind the glove box on the left-hand side.
In a 1998 Hyundai Excel, the tacho wire, which is used for the tachometer signal, can typically be found at the ignition coil or the ECU (engine control unit). You should look for a wire that is connected to the ignition coil's negative terminal, as this wire usually carries the RPM signal. Alternatively, you may find it in the wiring harness connected to the ECU. Always consult the vehicle's wiring diagram for accurate identification.

2To be honest if you oversize your exhaust on an N/A car then you risk reducing the "backpressure" to the engine and hence reduce the overall performance. Just by changing the backbox on a 1995 to 1999 Hyundai Accent / Excell on a stock engine will change the "power band" from about 2k RPM to about 4k RPM. By getting the TB mod you will hopefully negate the larger exhaust backpressure reduction, but for a 2.0 litre conversion you will need to referr to www.performancehyundai.com ;)I put a 2L late model excel engine in my 92 excel(1.8L) not sure the difference between elantra and excel but all i did was kept the original "juicy bits" like radiator ECU and gearbox ect. and everythign fit perfectly, no over pressure or anything.
The 1995 Ford Explorer ECU module can be found on the outside of the air filter housing. The ECU module will be on the back of the housing.
