Make sure transmission was warmed up, start the car, put trans in neutral, shut car off. Let sit for 30 seconds check fluid level within 90 seconds of car being shut off
If it is an automatic transmission, you add transmission fluid with a long funnel through the dipstick opening.

You would put this in next to the transmission. This helps to keep everything working smoothly in your vehicle.

Same place you check it if it is an A/T. If it is a manual there is a plug located near the top of the transmission.

If its a manual transmission any 5w-30 oil will work fine. However I personally use Honda's specific manual transmission fluid, available at any Honda dealership.

2004 is 4.4 quarts but I have put 5 in to get the oil level correct on the dipstick.
Use whatever is stated in the owners manual. This is critical. If you have no owners manual, coantact an Acura dealer for the answer. Put the wrong fluid in and you will ruin a tranny. Honda products use a special fluid.
