Oh, dude, the 02 sensor bank 2 sensor 1 on a 1998 Nissan Maxima is located on the exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter. Just look for the sensor closest to the engine on the side of the exhaust pipe that corresponds to cylinder bank 2. It's like finding a needle in a haystack, but with a bit more grease and grime involved.
Trouble code P0135 means:O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
On a 2005 Nissan Maxima where is the Camshaft Position Sensor (Bank 1) located?
Trouble code P0153 means:O2 sensor circuit slow responce (bank 2 sensor 1)
If bank 1 and bank 2 sensor bad car won't start
Bank 2 Sensor 1 located downstream left front rear side.
The MAP sensor is mounted at the rear of the left-bank (front) cylinder head.
There are three 02 sensors. The front left sensor is the forward most sensor, on the left bank of the engine. The next is the front right sensor on the right bank, the rear sensor is after the catalytic convertor. see below web site: http://www.courtesyparts.com/A32_O2-sensors.html
Check this site out, it shows you. http://www.nissanhelp.com/diy/maxima/projects/nissan_maxima_o2_sensor_identification.htm
bank one is drivers side, sensor 2 is rear O2 sensor(oxygen sensors are screwed into exhaust pipes)
On a 2005 Nissan Maxima, the Bank 1 Sensor 1 O2 sensor is located on the exhaust manifold, upstream of the catalytic converter. It is positioned on the driver's side of the engine, near the front. You may need to access it from underneath the vehicle or from the engine bay for replacement or inspection.

Bank 2, Sensor 1 is located on the front of the engine(radiator side), before the first catalytic converter.
