on a 1997 4-runner there are 4 oxygen sensors There is a 4 wire O2 sensor on each end of the catalic converter on the exhaust system. Usually held on with two nuts that will need to be wire brushed and taken off with vice-grips. The new O2 Sensor comes with a gasket but no nuts (size is M8-1.25)you need two for each sensor. Have your local parts store check the code to see which one is bad. The cars vin number and location of the sensor are needed to order the right part. Buy the OEM part as it has the correct connector attached. Go online to http://toyotaoemparts.com for great prices and free shipping.
