Symptoms of a bad PCV valve on a 2006 Nissan Xterra 4.0 can include rough idling, increased oil consumption, and excessive engine noise. You might also notice a decrease in fuel efficiency and oil leaks due to increased pressure in the crankcase. Additionally, the check engine light may illuminate if the engine management system detects issues related to the PCV system.

where is the pcv valve located on a 2003 Nissan sentra
You can find the PCV valve for your 1987 Nissan on top of the engine. The PCV valve will be near the air filter housing.
The PCV valve is located inline in a hose between the valve cover and throttle body. Make sure to check the hose and replace if cracks are found.
The PCV valve is located on the drivers side of the engine directly below where the N in Nissan is on top of the motor. There will be a short hose on the end of it with a clamp keeping it in position
