You need to replace the resistor board locate on the inside passanger side where the blower motor is located . It is attached to the blower motor with 4 screws as I recall and can be readily replace if you are somewhat handy around cars. The part Iam sure must be purchased at the dealer for around 35 dollars.

Well if it is your fan regardless of ac or not it would probably be the blower motor resistor. I had the same problem the part fixed everything it is about $35 for the part if you are able to do it yourself.
The blower motor resistor is located behind the glove box up under the dash. If you remove the the lower panel under the glove box (4 screw nuts) you can look up and see the wires going to it from the blower motor. You must remove the plug from the blower motor so it is easiest to drop the glove box down and out of the way by pushing the stopper to the side and letting it drop down on its' hinge. This reveals the connector to the blower motor. Then remove the 2 screw nuts on the resistor and then replace it. Very easy and parts are reasonable ($35 from www.parts4chevys.com)
