I worked on a Corolla and found the fuel filter, bolted to the passenger side (for right hand drive vehicles) of the engine compartment, in the engine compartment, against the side. Its a metal incased fuel filter. So I don't know where everyone's getting their answers from, unless we talking radically different models here ! Fuel filters are always in the engine compartment and for toyotas are always on the left hand side when sitting in the front seat looking straight ahead. Its a schlep getting it out but its there! hi there, itz in the fuel tank itself. naza The fuel filter is always located in one of two places. It is either located in the fuel tank, or somewhere between the engine and fuel tank. Get down under the car and follow the fuel lines from the tank forward, you will find it. If you don't see it, then it is in the tank. The fuel filter is part of the fuel pump assembly located inside the fuel tank.
It's located on the driver's side in back of the battery. An instructional video of how to change the air filter has also been provided below.
I know its what my 2001 Corolla Requires.
