The fuse for the cigar lighter socket on a Rover 200 is typically located in the fuse box, which is usually found under the dashboard on the driver's side or in the engine compartment. You can identify the specific fuse for the cigar lighter by consulting the fuse diagram, often found on the back of the fuse box cover or in the vehicle's owner's manual. If the cigar lighter is not functioning, checking this fuse is a good first step.
To fix the cigarette lighter on a 1998 Toyota Avalon, first check the fuse by locating the fuse box and inspecting the fuse for the lighter; replace it if it's blown. If the fuse is intact, remove the lighter socket assembly by gently pulling it out and checking for loose connections or debris. Clean the socket contacts and reconnect any loose wires. If the issue persists, consider replacing the entire lighter socket assembly.

After looking below the dash, I found the a primary fuse box with a simple release cover and a fuse diagram identifying all fuses contained there. The fuse for the lighter socket is marked "Cig Lighter" and is on left side. Conveniently located on the right side is a white fuse puller to remove and replace the fuse. The fuse is a blue mini 15 amp fuse.
Check the fuse first, then check the lighter and socket and sand down the contacts (be sure to pull fuse first so do don't get a shock). If not you may need a new light or socket.
If the cigarette lighter is not working and the ACC fuse, inside the car, left of steering wheel, is still good (radio is working), the "fuse" on the back side of the cigarette lighter socket, a brown wire, has blown. Socket needs to be replaced or fixed with a soldering iron and a new wire.
