look at the exhaust pipe between the motor and the catalytic converter(underneath the car, about where the center console sits). It faces the passenger side and it's wire runs to a connector somewhere under the windshield wiper motor.(passenger side firewall)

The upstream oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust pipe between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter The downstream oxygen sensor is located at the catalytic converter outlet
There are 4 oxygen sensor on Maxima 1997. 1.- Fronto Sensor Driver Side 2.- Front Sensor Passenger Side. 3.- Two rear sensors: first one located on Catalytic Converter and other one after it.

the knock sensor is located under the intake manifold, with a flash light you can see it however you have to remove the intake manifold to replace the knock sensor , also you will need to replace the intake gasket set as well!

bank 2 is on the left side of the engine or the side closest to the front of the vehicle. So the oxygen sensor would be on the exhaust coming from the left side.
