On a Toyota Previa, the vacuum pump breather pipes are typically located near the vacuum pump itself, which is usually mounted on the engine block. You can find the vacuum pump on the driver's side of the engine, toward the back. The breather pipes will be connected to the vacuum pump and may run towards the intake manifold or air cleaner. For precise location and routing, consulting a repair manual specific to your vehicle model is advisable.
A vacuum or whistling sound in a Toyota Previa while driving could indicate a few potential issues. It might be related to a vacuum leak in the intake system, which can affect engine performance. Alternatively, it might be caused by worn or damaged weather stripping around the doors or windows, allowing wind to enter the cabin. It's advisable to have a mechanic inspect the vehicle to diagnose and resolve the issue promptly.

It is a bimetallic vacuum switching valve. it controls the EGR system.
The engine is building up back pressure which forces oil into the breather. Check the air inlet hose and see if it is pulling a vacuum. If not you will need to clean it and replace the PCV valve.

Without knowing what kind of sound you are referring to when you say noisey I can offer this. When the engine is cold and in fast idle, a vacuum activated valve opens to allow hot exhaust gas to enter the air breather. When this is taking place there is a deeper hollow sound that comes from the engine as the air breather resonates with the unmuffeled exhaust. This valve can open when it should not if the carb is not adjusted properly or there is a problem with the vacuum system which on the Mighty Max and Ram50 are somewhat complicated. This valve is located at the end of the steel tube that comes from the exhaust manifoldand up toward the breather at the rear of the engine. It connects to the breather with a rubber tube.

In a 1994 Toyota RAV4 3-door, the vacuum hose is typically located near the engine, often attached to the intake manifold or various components like the brake booster and the emissions system. You can find it by following the hoses connected to the intake system or looking for rubber hoses that connect to vacuum-operated components. Ensure the engine is cool and safely access the area for inspection or maintenance.
