There is not a dipstick. There is a plug in the side of the transmission case and the mechanic has to remove it and use a gauge to check the level.
The 2000 Isuzu Rodeo typically requires about 4 quarts of automatic transmission fluid (ATF) for a fluid change, but if you're doing a complete transmission overhaul, it may need around 10 to 12 quarts, depending on the specific transmission model. Always check the owner's manual or consult with a mechanic for the most accurate information based on your vehicle's condition.
standard dextron atf
I just looked it up on autozone.com and two results came back. You can use Dextron III/ Mercon or ATF+4. But you can call them to be sure.
This is a very good answer below but it does NOT apply to a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo. The Rodeo's transmission is sealed, you cannot check fluid levels at home, you must take the vehicle to an authorized Isuzu mechanic so they can check the tranny fluid for you. Transmission: Keep an eye on your oil level, as it can get low on you real quick, especially on long hi speed highway trips. There are ways to remedy this. If equipped with an AT, your rodeo has a 4L30E GM trans. You should change the ATF. BMac- for the ATF leak thing, check the accumulator piston cover on the pass side of the trans. VERY common on the 4L30E. Leaks? How about the accumulator cover? It's on the right side and it's round. Check this: Accumulator repair: before trying to remove the snap ring you need to push the accumulator cover in then remove the cover don
The 2001 Isuzu Rodeo typically uses automatic transmission fluid (ATF) that meets the requirements of Dexron III or Mercon specifications. It's important to check the owner's manual for the specific transmission type and any manufacturer recommendations. For manual transmissions, the appropriate gear oil is usually 75W-90 or 80W-90, but again, consulting the manual is best for confirmation.
