Problems with the oxygen sensors are quite likely to cause emissions test problems. The car computer cannot properly adjust the air/fuel mixture to regulate the emissions.
The air flow sensors are located on the intake tract between the air filter and the throttle body.
It could me you oxygen sensors, your mass air flow either one fords are know for that b/c my exploder does the same thing till we got new o2 sensors and a new mass air flow.
There are 2 Oxygen sensors, the one on the right side is on the exhaust manifold, the one on the right side is on the downtube by the Car. The Mass air flow sensor is right by the air box.
Jeep doesn't use mass air flow sensors.
The 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass supreme has two oxygen sensors. Both oxygen sensors are located on the outside of the air cleaner housing.
The 1991 Cadillac Deville oxygen sensors are located on the firewall and the air cleaner housing. The firewall oxygen sensor will be on the drivers side. The air cleaner oxygen sensor will be on the back of the air cleaner housing.
The dust particals sticks on the wires where from it sense the flow of air mixture.
Dodge does not use mass air flow sensors on the Intrepids.
air flow is usually connected betwen the air box and engine, lambda sonsors are on the cat or exhaust, both can appear as an O2 fault on most diagnostic readers
Upstream oxygen sensors send a signal to the PCM which adjusts the fuel mixture ( air / fuel ratio )
there called mass air flow sencer.
