Whining noise near belts had pulleys adjusted any idea what is causing this
A ticking or clicking sound is probably lifter noise, the valves need adjusting
Clocks generally produce a soft ticking sound. The ticking noise can vary depending on the type of clock and its mechanisms, but it is usually not very loud.
Normally a whining noise in the back end means the differential is shot
My CJ7 also makes this noise. I think it is supposed to make that sound at a higher speed (5-20 MPH)
can you elaborate? engine noise? stationary/moving? ticking, tapping or a definite knocking?
Most likely it is a bad CV joint, they will make a clicking sound when they are worn out.
The most likely cause of a ticking sound in a motor is a bad timing belt. A valve out of time can also cause a ticking sound.
this is normal and nothing to worry about. Almost all vehicles make a whining noise in reverse Ford Mondeo's sound the same reversing as they do going forwards no whining also VW Passatt i think the Golf's are the same also maybe modern technology has improved this. probably bad enough listening to your wife whining you can do without your car doing it.
The ticking noise - is their 'radar' - bat's calls are just about audible at the top end of human hearing. Some people can hear them without an artificial bat 'locator'.
According to the manufacturer, there is nothing abnormal about the whining sound in the transmission. It is a normal sound as the transmission moves through its ranges.
the ticking is the blinkers
