White smoke means (under most circumstances) that you have water getting into the cylinder. That usually means a blown head gasket. Does the car show signs of overheating or have any miss?
If the smoke says after a few minutes, you probably need to consider head gasket(s).
Try changing the spark plugs
Bad spark plugs and leads can commonly make the engine feel like its 'hesitating' or skipping a beat, often worsening in the higher rev range. However it is not the cause of white smoke. White smoke is typically associated with coolant getting into the combustion chamber. The most common cause of this is a cracked head gasket, which you will need to replace in order to rectify the white smoke.
If the center housing seals are bad, you will see white smoke coming out the exhaust. Otherwise you'll probably have to get it diagnosed by a mechanic.
There are 2 different types of smoke, white or black/purple-ish. White smoke indicates a problem with the water. Black/purple-ish indicates an oil problem. In your case with white smoke check the water and on rare occasions changing the air filter helps too.
300zx twin turbo lots of black smoke and running rough
No, that's usually water getting into cylinders.
The white smoke is the head gasket, other problem could be related.
Blown head gasket
white smoke is oil burning in combustion chamber. sound like this one has been ran very hard and will have many probs.
White smoke is an indication of a blown head gasket. Oil leaking on the outside of the spark plugs is caused by a leaking valve cover gasket. Oil on the spark plug electrode is a sign of worn rings.
Not likely. Smoke from under the hood denotes a leak. Either your coolant or oil is leaking. White, thick smoke is oil. Could just be a gasket. Thinner hazy smoke is coolant. Check your hoses. Look for fluids/wet spots. Bad plugs can missfire, and make your exhaust smoke.
white smoke means you're burning antifreeze...check for loss of coolant in the tank and look for leaks
