The 2004 Chevy Aveo does not require a key fob to start the vehicle, as it uses a traditional key ignition system. The key fob is primarily used for remote locking and unlocking of the doors. However, if the car is equipped with an anti-theft system, the key must have a transponder chip for the engine to start. Always check the owner's manual for specific details related to your vehicle.

When I replaced my wifes battery in her 98 Camry, I had her put the key into the ignition, turn it to "on" position, then I connected the battery cables, then have to take out the key,,,get out of the car,,,lock the doors using the key,,,,,open the door lock using the key,,,then start the car...seems that opening and unlocking the doors resets the alarm,,,
When I replaced the battery on my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee it would not start up. I got it to work by locking all doors and then unlocking the doors. After doing this it would crank up. Hope this helps. Additional Info: Exactly. When you disconnect or change the battery the factory alarm engages and activates the engine kill switch. Just reconnect the battery and lock and unlock the doors with your key to reset it.
Have you tried unlocking the doors with the remote? I don't know if it will work on GM cars, but it works on at least some Fords.
problem with anti theft take to the dealer Check under your dash, you may have a reset button that will allow you to start your Trac with that. The only problem is that every time you need to start your Trac, you will have to hit that button before hand. Also try locking your doors, then unlocking them with your key fob, then try starting your Trac.

To program the remote for your 2006 Jaguar XJ8, start by sitting inside the vehicle with all doors closed. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine, then turn it back to "Off." Press and hold the "lock" button on the remote while turning the ignition back to "On," then release the button and turn the ignition back to "Off." Your remote should now be programmed; test it by locking and unlocking the doors.
